Your First Infrared Sauna Blanket Session: What to Expect
July 8, 2026
What nobody tells you
Your first session will feel strange. The blanket is snug. Heat builds slowly. You may feel claustrophobic for the first five minutes. This is normal.
Before you get in
- Hydrate. Drink 500ml of water before.
- Wear light cotton (or nothing — the liner is washable).
- Have a towel and water bottle next to you.
- Set your phone on do-not-disturb.
Session 1: Start at setting 2–3
Don't start at maximum heat. Your body needs time to acclimate. 30 minutes at a moderate setting will feel like enough.
During
Some people feel mildly light-headed the first time. If this happens, ease the blanket open slightly and take a few breaths. It passes. Do not push through discomfort.
After
You will sweat more than you expect. Shower within 20 minutes. Drink another 500ml of water. Most people feel genuinely relaxed — sometimes sleepy — for the rest of the evening.
By session 5
You will have found your ideal heat setting and duration. Most regular users land on 40–50 minutes at setting 4–5, three to five times per week.
